Growing activity in Community-Led Housing

Cornwall is coming out of winter with more community-led housing activity than ever before, with Cornwall CLT working alongside communities across Cornwall to support affordable homes projects.
On the Isles of Scilly where planning permission has been granted for 12 self-build affordable homes at Old Town, St Mary’s, Cornwall CLT is working with local people and the Council and hopes to see the commencement of construction work later this year, which will provide 12 serviced plots for local first-time buyers to build their own homes.

Planning permission has also been granted at North Petherwin where CCLT will take on a project to deliver 11 affordable homes on land in the village.

CCLT also has outstanding planning applications for homes at Newlyn (where we’re currently appealing against a refusal by Cornwall Councillors to support Newlyn Housing Working Party’s 29 affordable homes project), Lanivet (15 affordable homes), St Dennis (23 affordable homes), Carleen (6 affordable homes), Gwennap (10 affordable homes), and Treskerby (9 affordable homes).  Cornwall CLT is also working with many other local communities across Cornwall, including St Keverne Housing Working Party (HWP), St Endellion CLT, Landewednack Parish (The Lizard) HWP, Tintagel HWP, St Just area (CLT and Town/Parish Councils), St Ives CLT and many more.
