The Director and Development Manager of Cornwall CLT recently caught up with members of Goran CLT and spent an interesting afternoon learning about their refurbishment project in the heart of Gorran near Mevagissey.

Goran CLT is converting the Old School Rooms into two flats and a community space. Three existing flats in the adjoining property will also be refurbished as part of the project. The flats will be rented at affordable prices and managed on behalf of the CLT by a housing association.

With overwhelming support from the community and a combination of local donations, charitable grants and loans the project is an excellent example of what CLTs can achieve when there is enthusiasm and motivation.

This is the first CLT refurbishment project in Cornwall and we are sure that the re-use of a building is something that other communities will want to explore.
