Summer success!

Cornwall CLT is pleased to report further success with planning permissions at Gwennap (10 all-affordable homes) and at Treskerby (9 all-affordable homes) which are both near Redruth. This is on top of our celebration of securing permission on appeal for Newlyn for 29 all-affordable homes in May.

Treskerby Planning Approved

Newlyn Housing Working Party is already working with CCLT in support of our efforts to bring that project on site early next year. CCLT is negotiating with a charitable housing association partner to deliver the scheme, while CCLT retains the freehold of the land in perpetuity for the community.

Gwennap Housing Working Party has been encouraged by its success and is already seeking to identify another site for a further project elsewhere in this large four-village parish.

Although all three projects faced varying degrees of vociferous opposition, those in housing need are delighted; and the communities behind the projects look forward to the delivery of another 48 homes which will be available at social/affordable (below market) rent or intermediate (shared ownership) sale and remain for local benefit forever.

CCLT also has planning applications supported by local Housing Working Parties (HWPs) in the parishes of Lanivet (15 all-affordable homes) and Carleen (6 all-affordable homes), both due for determination in the next few months.
