One line of work which we are pursuing with renewed vigour is that of the Rural Housing Enabler Site Finder programme funded by DEFRA through ACRE in partnership with Cornwall Rural Community Charity and the Council’s Affordable Housing Team, as mentioned in our May e-news Joining forces with Cornwall Rural Community Charity – finding new sites for the homes our communities need – Cornwall Community Land Trust Limited

This work is now being led by Pattie Richmond, formally the CLH Enabling Hub Lead and now a full-time member of the Development Team.  Pattie is tasked with unlocking sites not yet being looked at in order to satisfy some of the identified housing need that is not being addressed in the rural parishes of Cornwall, in particular the North and East. The focus is ideally on identifying pieces of land with some potential as Rural Exception Sites but which aren’t yet known to the Council’s Affordable Housing Team nor in the planning system nor being marketed.

As the duration of the funding is limited, we are looking for relatively quick wins so if you are a landowner, agent, Parish Council or member of a rural community with an identified housing need who knows of land that fits this profile, please do get in touch directly on
